Standard models are basically small versions of your home water heater. Some high-end systems come with a water filter system and a cold water dispenser (figure A).

    Preparation :

    1. Clean out the area under your sink to make room for the tank.

    2. Next, shut-off the water at the water heater (figure B).

    3. Turn off the power at the breaker. If your water heater is gas, turn the control to the 'Pilot' setting.

    4. Drain the water lines. Turn on the faucet at the sink where you are working, as well as an outside faucet (figure C).
