    Figure B
There are two solutions to this problem, which can be used together.

    • A point-of-use water heater (figure A) has a built-in thermostat with auto shut-off so that it doesn't run when it reaches the desired temperature. This system has a small tank that mounts under the sink, which holds the hot water unit it's needed.
    • Re-circulating hot water systems (figure B) circulate hot water through the plumbing of the house so that cold water doesn't stay in the lines, blocking the hot water when you turn it on at the faucet. This system also has an auto shut-off.
