    The last step of the toilet tank rebuild is repositioning the tank back onto the bowl.

    Slip-joint pliers

    1. Position the tank on top of the bowl.

    2. Tighten all of the bolts using small slip-joint pliers and make sure the tank doesn't wobble.

    3. Hold the handle all the way down while the water is filling into the bowl. This will allow you to see if there are any leaks before you have a full bowl of water.

    4. If the seal looks good, let off the handle to allow the bowl to fill up completely. Adjust the water level so it's a half-inch below the fill tube.
