    PHOTO

To make a small room look bigger, use two paint colors. Put the deeper color on the lower portion of the wall and a lighter tone on top.
    Materials:

    paint
    paintbrushes and rollers
    chalk line
    1x4 chair rail
    level

    1. Before painting, prime the walls with a nice even coat. Let dry.

    2. Measure the walls and determine the location where the two tones will meet. Use a level and chalk line to create a straight line across the wall.

Dividing the two colors with a chair rail will make each of them pop and adds a nice finishing touch to the room.
    3. Paint accordingly and let dry.

    4. Measure the room and cut the chair rail material to size. Sand, paint or stain prior to installation for a finished look.

    5. Install chair rail, using a level and your chalk line for reference.
