    Wine labels were added to this bookcase continuing the wine county theme in the room.
    The final step in creating a wine country retreat is to decoupage wine labels to the sides of a bookshelf.

    Materials:

    Wine labels
    Pencil
    Mat board
    Painter's tape
    6 1/2" seamless foam roller
    2" flat brush
    Sea sponge
    Latex eggshell paint
    Glaze
    Cloth
    Satin varnish
    Wallpaper paste

    1. Remove the wine labels (figure A) after soaking the bottle in water over night.


    2. Create a template out of mat board, then trace the pattern (figure B).


    3. Use painters tape to tape off the pattern.


    4. Apply latex paint inside the lines (figure C), then allow to dry.


    5. Use a sea sponge to apply glaze a shade darker than the base coat.


    6. Remove the tape and use wallpaper paste to apply the labels in the middle of each pattern. Use a cloth to smooth out any bubbles (figure D).


    7. Seal with clear varnish.
