Traditional American Bedroom: Striped Table From "Fresh Coat" episode DFCT-110

An ordinary table gets an unordinary design.

Stripes are easily applied to a table using different sizes of tape as a guide.

Materials:

Sandpaper
Water based primer
2" flat brush
6 1/2" seamless foam roller
Latex eggshell finish paint
1/4" wide tape
1/8" wide tape
Paint pen
Ruler

1. Lightly sand the table with sand paper.

   
   

2. Apply primer on the table, then allow it to dry.

   
   

3. Add two different width tapes, alternating between the two different sizes all the way across the top (figure A).

   
   

4. Remove every other piece of tape, then use an artist brush to paint between the lines.

   
   

5. Remove the remaining tape.

   
   

6. Finally, mark the inside center of every other strip, then use a ruler and a paint pen to draw the pinstripes (figure B) alongside the stripe painted earlier.
