    Now that the walls have a new look, host Steve Bull explains to the homeowners how to apply maps to their bookcase to give it a classic look.

    Materials:

    Painter's tape
    Oil based gel stain
    2" flat brush
    6 1/2" seamless foam roller
    Cloth
    Water
    Tint
    Satin varnish
    Maps
    Wallpaper past
    Wallpaper blade

    1. Tape around the back panel of the bookcase to protect it from stain.


    2. Paint on the red stain, then let stand for ten minutes.


    3. Wipe off the excess stain (figure A).


    4. Apply your artwork to the back of the bookcase using wallpaper paste. Use a wallpaper blade to smooth out any bubbles (figure B).


    5. Create a sepia tone mixture by mixing two parts water, one part varnish with several drops of raw sienna tint and burnt umber tint.


    6. Apply sepia tone with a brush, then smooth over with a cloth.


    7. Finally, seal it with a varnish.
