    A flogging technique gives ordinary shutters an extraordinary look.
    To complete this master bedroom makeover, the window shutters get a coat of paint with a flogging technique.

    Materials:

    Mineral spirits
    Oil based paint
    Paint sprayer
    Flogging brush

    1. Mix two parts mineral spirits with one part oil based paint to thin paint for the sprayer.

      Safety Note: always wear masks and gloves when using a sprayer.

    2. Load the paint into the sprayer, then spray the shutters (figure A). Be sure to keep the sprayer the same distance from the shutters using a fluid motion.

    3. While the paint is still wet, slap the shutters with a flogging brush (figure B).
