    Now that the walls have been painted, the dresser gets a faux wood look using a graining tool.

    Materials:

    Sandpaper
    Latex paint
    Glaze
    Graining tool
    Brush

    1. Sand through the top layer, to prepare the dresser for paint.

    2. Apply a brown latex eggshell paint (figure A), then allow to dry.

    3. Add three parts glaze to one part latex paint to create a topcoat glaze. Use a darker shade than the base coat.

    4. Apply the topcoat glaze.

    5. While the paint is still wet, drag the graining tool over the topcoat (figure B) using a rocking motion.
