    1. Prepare the room by taping the windows, doors and moldings with painter's tape. Then, place a drop cloth on the floor.

    2. Apply the base coat using an eggshell latex paint, then allow to dry.
    3. Next, tape off the wall in 23-inch sections (figure A).

    4. Add three parts glaze to one part latex paint to create a topcoat glaze. Use a slightly darker color than the base coat.

    5. Apply the topcoat in sections. While the paint is wet, use a rolled up sheet of plastic to lightly dab on the wall moving from top to bottom (figure B). Repeat this technique for every other taped section. Allow to dry.

    6. Remove the tape, then re-tape the wall outlining the unpainted panels. Continue to paint the topcoat glaze, then dab with the plastic.

    1. Apply the base coat using an eggshell latex paint to the unpainted sections, then allow to dry.

    2. Add three parts glaze to one part latex paint to create a topcoat glaze. Use a slightly darker color than the base coat.

    3. Paint the topcoat, then while the paint is wet drag a wide dry brush through the paint from top to bottom.

    4. Next, take a metal comb and drag it through the wet paint horizontally (figure C). Repeat in sections until the wall is complete.
