California homeowners Lynne and Paul love Italy...and the couple want their family room to have an Italian feel.Host Steve Bull is on deck to help give the family room a Tuscan look with terra fresco walls, aged moldings and a mottled childrens table set off by a modern patterned bookcase.
Materials:Painter's tape
Drop cloth
Joint compound
Latex paint
Plaster
Fresco Walls
1. Prep room by taping windows, doors and moldings with painters tape. Place drop cloth on the floor.
2. Mix three different troths of joint compound with three kinds of latex paint. Be careful not to over mix, leaving some of the white joint compound showing.
3. Add plaster (figure A) to center of a plaster blade and apply base color compound in a small area.
4. Apply other two colors in smaller amounts as highlights to add depth (figure B), be careful not to over blend.
5. So far, so good (figure C)!
