    Basket Combing

    Materials:

    Trisodium phosphate
    Glazing liquid
    Eggshell latex
    Metal combs
    Paint roller

    1. Wipe furniture surface with Trisodium phosphate to removed dirt, oil and debris.

    2. Add three parts glaze to one part eggshell latex to create a top coat glaze.

    3. Apply glaze to furniture. Then, while glaze is still wet brush over it using metal combs in a slight wiggle motion, first vertically (figure A) and then horizontally.

    Bamboo Border

    Materials:

    Painters tape
    Small artist's brush
    Dark brown paint
    White paint

    1. Lay three strips of painters tape side-by-side around dresser edge. Remove the center piece of tape to create a masked area for the border (figure B).


    2. Use eggshell latex paint to paint border within taped area and allow to dry.


    3. Dip artist's brush in brown paint and paint bamboo details, then use white paint to accent and highlight the brown brush strokes (figure C).
