Basket CombingMaterials: Trisodium phosphate Glazing liquid Eggshell latex Metal combs Paint roller
- Wipe furniture surface with Trisodium phosphate to removed dirt, oil and debris.
- Add three parts glaze to one part eggshell latex to create a top coat glaze.
- Apply glaze to furniture. Then, while glaze is still wet brush over it using metal combs in a slight wiggle motion, first vertically (figure A) and then horizontally.
Latex paint (Kelly Moore) color used: Pinecone Path (KM4040-5)
Bamboo BorderMaterials: Painters tape Small artist's brush Dark brown paint White paint
- Lay three strips of painters tape side-by-side around dresser edge. Remove the center piece of tape to create a masked area for the border (figure B).
- Use eggshell latex paint to paint border within taped area and allow to dry.
- Dip artist's brush in brown paint and paint bamboo details, then use white paint to accent and highlight the brown brush strokes (figure C).
