Homeowners Dianna and Kevin Curtin are procrastinating homeowners with large paint swatches on their guest bedroom walls. The swatches have been a part of the room for over a year. Host Steve Bull will teach the Curtins a few techniques for transformation their walls into a sunny bamboo bungalow.
Materials:Painters tape Drop cloth Masking paper Paint roller Latex paint, base color Latex paint, darker topcoat color Glazing liquid Stippling brush Clean, dry rag

- Prep room by taping windows, doors and moldings with painters tape. Place drop cloth on the floor. Tape the adjoining wall with masking paper.
- Apply base coat on walls and allow to dry, then apply a darker color topcoat up to the point where you would like to the sun burst effect to start. Work in sections, painting about four feet at a time (figure A).
- Add three parts glaze to one part of the darker latex paint color to create a top coat glaze. Apply topcoat glaze about 6" above the section.
- Stipple glaze while paint is still wet (figure B), moving from the bottom of the glaze towards the top of the ceiling .
- Use a rag to blend the paint and even out the effect (figure C).
