  • From "Fresh Coat"
    episode DFCT-104

    Materials:

    Painters taper
    Drop cloth
Flat latex paint (one shade lighter than Venetian plaster color)
    Venetian plaster and tint
    Putty knife
    Venetian plaster blade

    1. Prep room by taping windows, doors and moldings. Place drop cloth on floor.

    2. Apply base coat of flat latex paint (figure A).

    3. Add tint to Venetian plaster until desired color is reached (or buy premixed).

    4. Use putty knife to scoop plaster and place in center of the Venetian plaster blade.

    5. Begin applying a thin coat plaster by sweeping blade from side-to-side (figure B). Apply at least two thin coats, adding coats as needed to achieve desired texture.

    Drop cloth
    Flat latex paint
    Latex glazing liquid
    Paint roller
    Dry paint brush

    1. Prep room by taping windows, doors and moldings. Place drop cloth on floor.
