Materials and tools:masonry paint primer painter's tape drop cloth or paper cloth paint stir-sticks paint brushes (1-1/2" or 2" wide) paint rollers and tray Steps:
- Painting stucco is a quick way to update the look of your outdoor room. You'll need primer and masonry paint. Masonry paint weathers better, is thicker, and adheres to masonry better than your average paint.
- If you want colored paint, also tint the primer. This will minimize the coats of paint needed to cover the area.
- Cover floors with a drop or paper cloth and tape edges (figures A).
- Paint the area with a primer, and allow 30 minutes for the primer to dry.
- Follow up with the paint. Dean and Derek suggest using a large, thick roller that will hold lots of paint and cutting in with a 1-1/2" or 2" brush (figures B). When your done, enjoy your newly painted outdoor room!
