  • Move It Outside Pt. 3: Outdoor Shower and Propane Lanterns
  • DIY pro Jay Baker helps with yet another project to keep the guests at a family reunion outdoors: a poolside outdoor shower with propane water heater.
    From "Move It Outside"
    episode DMIO-103

Jennifer and Kurt Taser are planning to host a family reunion. The good news: they have a beautiful lakeside home. The bad news: the interior of their home is unfinished, and won't be ready in time for the reunion. The solution: move the party outdoors. To do that, with the help of DIY pro Jay Baker, the Tasers are undertaking a number of upgrades to facilitate some serious outdoor entertaining.

In this installment of Move It Outside the homeowners have opted to replace their old electric water heater with a smaller, sleeker propane water heater. Additionally, since Jennifer and Kurt's guests will be moving from lake activities to pool activities, they decide it's a good idea to install an outdoor shower, thereby limiting the need for guests to go inside their as-yet-unfinished house. To round out this phase of the outdoor makeover, they install a number of accent lights that also run on propane gas. In addition to enhancing the ambiance, these lantern-style fixtures also illuminate pathways and stairs around the pool.
