Materials: limestone tiles decorative insert batten board screw gun safety glasses ceramic-tile adhesive V-notched trowel spacers tape measure level pencil Steps: 1. Attach a batten board to support the tiles behind the range opening. Spread ceramic- tile adhesive on the wall with a v-notched trowel. Begin to set tile on top of a row of spacers laid flat. Be sure to wipe off any mastic with a damp sponge before it dries on the tile. Use spacers in between for even grout lines. 2. For the decorative inset, find center and draw a plumb line. Back butter the center tile of the bottom row, and set it in place. 3. Set the rest of the bottom row and the center tile. Adjust the small tiles if necessary so they line up with the center piece. 4. Add the rest of the small border tiles, then continue with the rest of the field tile.
