    To Install the Cook Sink

    Important safety instructions:

    • The Kohler Cook Sink does not operate until the unit is turned on and the power is set.
    • The Kohler Cook Sink has a red indicator that operates at about 140 degrees Fahrenheit to alert the operator that the pot is hot.
    • Do not operate the cook sink if it malfunctions or has been damaged in any way. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug. Contact the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
    • Be sure your appliance's electrical service has been installed properly and has been grounded by a qualified electrician.
    • To reduce the risk of fire, do not store anything directly on, underneath or above of the cook sink when the appliance is in operation.
    • To reduce the risk of fire, do not store flammable items in, under, or above the cooking vessel. Also, do not mount the cook sink over or beneath any portion of a heating or cooking appliance.
    • Provide adequate ventilation around the cook sink to prevent steam damage to surrounding surfaces.

Important: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for further requirements and specifications. Download .pdf file.

    Steps:

    • First, turn off the water and any power, if a garbage disposal is installed.

    • Measure the new sink and the old to ensure easy drop in.

    • Unhook and remove garbage disposal plumbing and wiring. (Turn disposal to detach from sink bottom.)

    • Remove the old sink (figure A).

    • Score the seal all the way around the sink lip on top.

    • Under the cabinet, loosen and remove the clamps holding the sink to the counter.

    • Once out of the way, place the new sink in place (figure B).

    • Make any necessary adjustments to the existing frame to ensure a good fit (figure C).

    • Cut a notch in the counter if necessary to make room for the electrical box.

    • Once in place, a 110v, 20 amp circuit is needed to power to the Kohler cook sink unit.

Note: This should be done by a licensed electrician.

    • Plumbing modifications might be needed, depending on your current plumbing configuration.

    • With the new sink in place, plumbing supply and discharge piping can be re-installed (figure D).

    • Reverse your disconnection steps to re-install garbage disposal electrical and plumbing per standard plumbing codes.

    • Connect the 110v, 20amp hardwire to the heating element box of the Cook Sink. Positive to positive, neutral to neutral, green to ground, per standard electrical code.

Important: Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions to ensure proper installation.
