If a phone line connection or light switch is in the space designated for the oven, you may need to relocate it. The basic steps are outlined below.Note: If you're not comfortable with doing electrical work, you may wish to hire a licensed electrician for this job.
To Relocate the Phone ConnectionMaterials: screwdriver utility knife drywall saw level pencil trim ring - Safety Alert: Before beginning work, shut off the power to the switch at the main breaker box.
Unscrew the mounting plate (figure A) and disconnect the circuit board (figure B) or switch box before cutting a hole in the new location.
Trace around the outside and the inside of the trim ring (figure C). Cut along the inner line to ensure a good fit (figure D).
Pull the cables through the trim ring before pushing it into the hole (figure E).Screw the trim ring into place. If relocating a phone line, reattach the circuit board then replace the mounting plate. If relocating alight switch, re-connect positive, neutral and ground wire, per electrical standards.
To Install Motion-Sensor LightingMaterials: flathead screwdriver wire caps Note: If you're not comfortable with doing electrical work, you may wish to hire a licensed electrician for this job.
Steps:- First, turn off the power at the electrical panel before removing the plate.
- Once the power is off, remove the existing cover plate and switch (figure F).
- Once removed, use a flathead screwdriver to depress the tab that releases the wires (figure G).
There are three wires to make the connection. Connect the green wire to the ground wire and twist them together clockwise then screw on a wire cap (figure H).Attach the remaining wires, tuck the switch back into the box and secure it (figure I).
The sensitivity of the switch is controlled by two terminals (figure J). One controls how long the light will stay on after the switch is activated. The other controls how dark the room needs to be before it turns on. Choose your settings accordingly before replacing the cover plate (figure K).
