Finishing Touches From "Kitchen Renovations" episode DKTN-413

In this final segment of the final episode of "Mom's Kitchen -- Traditional Update (3 of 3), host Paul Ryan and his brothers attach the cabinet hardware. They modify the opening cutout for the new microwave. Then they bring in the new stainless appliances, the dishwasher, refrigerator, and the slide-in range.

Finishing Touches

1. Mark cuts for the microwave on the standard microwave frame.

2. Tape the surface of the frame (figure A) and the shoe of the jig saw so you don't damage the finish.

3. Make the cuts with the jig saw.

4. Place the microwave in the new frame.

5. Finish with trim (figure B) to hold the microwave in place and cover the edges of the frame.

Appliances

• First, the Ryan brothers brought in the new dishwasher (figure C).

• A big improvement is made with a huge, silver refrigerator with a water dispenser on the door (figure D -- as the Ryan brothers admire their mother's choice).

• And, finally, the new stove is moved in and Mom is happy (figure E).
