Note: Contractor Shane Kretsinger explains the kitchen plumbing to Paul and Darcy, and he said any time you have a drain you must have a vent. For the kitchen island, Shane utilized a loop-vent made of PVC piping (figure A) to drain the water. This particular system gives the air an opportunity to go somewhere while the water drains "out" of the house -- in the opposite direction.

    Moving a Refrigerator

    1. An airlifter will help protect your floor as well as help you move heavy appliances.

    2. Start by sliding the lifter pad under the frame (figure B) so that the weight is evenly distributed.

Note: An airlifter can move up to 800 pounds!

    3. Attach the blower hose (figure C) to the two pads, but be careful as the fridge starts to levitate -- make sure someone stabilizes the unit so it doesn't tip.

    4. The blower hose is equipped with a valve that regulates the flow of air. Open the control valve all the way to the start.

    5. Once the air is flowing, start closing the valve to keep the pads from filling too quickly.

    6. Gently guide the unit through the room. Make sure to keep it level -- not putting too much weight on either pad. Take your time.

Note: Another advantage to using an airlifter is that it won't scratch your floor.

    7. Once the unit is lined up, slide the pads out. Then use the refrigerator wheels to roll it into place.

In the next segment, Paul and Darcy install the cooktop and then dryfit the oven and discuss features of the wine cooler.
