    1. Remember to secure permits before you begin.

    2. Clear out old items from kitchen, being careful with anything that will be put back.

    3. Pry off the trim.

    Note: You might want to bring in a professional to help with larger projects such as removing tiled countertops and opening up a wall.

    In the next episode of "Chef's Kitchen" (2 of 4), we begin the installation of a new professional model vent hood and then set to work preparing the subflooring for the underlayment.
