In this segment host Paul Ryan introduces the homeowners, Cotty and Jason, as we tour their Victorian home. Ryan discussed the plan to renovate their kitchen with them. The kitchen is emptied out, removing the old appliances and prying the sink, counter and the sink unit out.Materials and Tools:

Building Extending Wall--

Installing Drywall--

Prepping Sink Wall--

Installing Fire Blocks--

Closing-up Sink Wall--

1-1/4" dry wall screws, joint compound, mud pan, trowel, 5" mudding knife, sanding block, vacuum
Removing Sink Cabinet and Countertop- Look under the top to see how it's attached, and remove screws and pry away from the wall using a small pry bar (figure B) and hammer. Unless it's glued it from should lift off.
- Remove the anchor screws from the back of the cabinets.
- Remove any anchor screws that may be in the floor.
- Pull out the cabinet and remove from the room (figure C).
In the next segment, Ryan and the homeowners carefully remove the trim so it can be reused. The old tile backsplash is chipped away, and the vinyl floor is easily removed after it's cut with a circular saw.
