	she suggested this new light, spacious and airy layout!

In this segment host Paul Ryan shows the homeowners remove the old ceiling fan and replace it with new monorail track lights.

	The great thing about a monorail track lighting system is that it's a low-voltage system due to the transformer that steps down the voltage from 120 volts down to 12 volts, which allows you to use halogen bulbs.

Installing the Track Lighting

1. Always be sure to turn the power off at the circuit breaker first when installing lights.

2. Disconnect the old lighting.

3. To install the transformer, attach a new support bracket to the box (figure A).

4. Insert the stripped feed wires into the block connector.

5. Tighten the small set screws.

6. Put the transformer housing into place and screw tight to the support bracket (figure B).

7. Join the two sections of track using the short connector to make a "s" shape on the ceiling.

8. Determine where to place the track and mark where the first hanger rod will go (figure C).

9. Screw the drywall anchor into the ceiling.

10. Screw the threaded collar into the anchor.

11. Attach the hanger rods into the collars and extend to full height.

12. Put the monorail in place.

13. Attach the power cable and place the lights where you want along the rail (figure D).

In the final episode of DIY's "Soft Contemporary" kitchen renovation, Ryan and the homeowners will install the countertops, backsplash, island and appliances to complete the project.
