    Priming and Painting Walls

    1. Tape off the trim with painter's tape.

    2. Put down drops of paper on the flooring.

    3. Prime areas that were patched.

    4. Paint walls with selected paint.

      Installing Irregular Shaped Cabinets

    5. Start with the most difficult cabinet and the rest will build off of the location of this corner piece (figure A).

    6. Create a square for the cabinet. Extend imaginary lines from the corner of the cabinets to create a square (figure B).

    7. Measure the distance from one side to the other side, and transfer this square to the floor.

    8. Measure from both walls the location of water supply lines and drain pipe. Both vertical and horizontal measurements are needed.

    9. Transfer these measurements to the back and floor of the cabinet. Mark with a pencil to prep for cutting.

    10. Do the same measuring for the drain pipe.

    11. Use a 1" spade bit (figure C) and a jigsaw to cut out holes.

    12. Lift and lower the cabinet carefully over the pipes, feeding them though the holes you just cut.

    13. Slide cabinet back tight into corner.

In the next segment, Ryan and the homeowners continue working with the cabinets, and Ryan demonstrates a trick for adjusting cabinets to level. The island is built out of two cabinets.
