    Installing the New Sink

Note: This sink (figure A) is hand-made in England and is like a fine piece of pottery. It's fired at more than 2,000-degrees.

    1. Measure the "true" height of the sink. Measure down the sink height from the top of the cabinet. Make one mark in back and one in front.

    2. Make a line between the two marks for the top of the 2x4 supports -- one on each side.

    3. Attach the 2x4 supports (figure B) with a strong adhesive, and screw 1-5/8" square-drive deck screws through the cabinet and into the support -- four screws in all.

Note: For a heavy sink always double up the supports.

    4. Cut the front-counter rails so the sink can fit.

    5. Put in the sink (figure C).

    6. Fill in the gaps between the sink and counter with fill stock.

In the final segment of Pt. 2 of the "Country Cottage" kitchen, Ryan and the homeowners make furniture from the old cabinets.
