Tanya Ramirez has been busy taking care of baby Jacob since husband Albert was deployed to Iraq. Jacob's nursery has not been decorated. The Homefront crew will paint the walls and install a new closet organizer that Jacob's busy mom is sure to love.

    Decorative Nursery Painting

    1. Mask off the floor moldings with masking tape and butcher paper.

    2. Remove all switch plates with a screwdriver.

    3. Using a pencil, sketch in the boarders of the landscape, and then cut inside the boarders (figure A) with paint using a high quality paintbrush.Note: be sure to add a liberal amount of paint to your brush when painting the outline. Then use a roller to fill in the large areas.

    4. Pre-mark the areas that you want to place stamps or stenciling.

    5. Apply appropriate colored paint sparingly to rubber stamp, using a stamp roller.

    6. Apply the stamp with even pressure against the wall, and then remove quickly.

      Closet Organizer

    7. Locate and mark for wall studs by using a stud finder (figure B).

    8. Drill holes in main track at corresponding points.

    9. Level the track, and then use a screw gun to drive heavy wood screws through the track and into the studs.

    10. Hang vertical standards by inserting the top ends into the main track. Insert shelf brackets as desired.

    11. Snap wire shelves into place (figure C), and then fasten the bottom of entire assembly into the wall studs with wood screws and a drill gun.

    12. Snap hanging rod hooks into position, and then snap the rods into the rod hooks.
