    Old film and slide projectors are gutted and changed into ambient lighting as well as decoration for the office.

    projectors
    electrical wiring kits
    light bulb sockets
    wire cutters
    screwdrivers

    1. Take the projector apart (figure A), and remove everything but the lens from the inside. Make sure to keep the casing intact, and then set aside.

    2. Install the electrical components. Place a socket at the location of the former projector lamp (figure B), and then screw the mounting bracket into place.

    3. Run the wire through the body of the projector.

    4. Add a plug and an on/off switch to the wire.

    5. Put the projector casing back on, and then replace all the screws or clips that were removed during disassembly.

    Project Expense:

    Projectors: $50
    Electrical supplies: $12
    Light bulbs: $7

    Total: $69
