  • Torn, Stained and Unsightly
  • From "DIY to the Rescue"
    episode DTTR-304F

Sisters Vanessa and Maritza Gualy are art lovers who would like to turn their main hallway into a gallery. But the carpet is torn and stained and makes a bad impression as you enter the home. The two sisters have completely revamped the interior of their historic Craftsman home, but are a bit perplexed when it comes to the floor of the front hallway.

The DIY to the Rescue crew will help the sisters remove the old carpet, lay backerboard and install a mix of matte and gloss ceramic tiles. Glass blocks will be added to create a private bath at the end of the hall, and a miterless urethane molding system will be added to give the hallway a polished, professional appearance.
