    Fashion

    • Todd Scott is a professional artist and designer and one of his favorite creations is the world's largest duct tape flag (figure A). He uncovered it in New York City to celebrate Flag Day and the 60th anniversary of duct tape in 2002. It measures 95 feet long by 55 feet wide and it contains 13-1/2 miles of duct tape.

    • Whether a flag, dress or jacket, the technique is the same. Todd brings 2 pieces of the duct tape material together and staples through the center to create a seam and then tapes over the staples to make it smooth.

    • Another of Todd's creations is a duct tape rose (figure B). To make a duct tape rose:

      1. Cut out squares all the same size. Fold one corner over, leaving a small piece at the bottom.

      2. Then, fold the other corner the same way -- it will resemble a small house (figure C). Repeat this process repeatedly, approximately 15 to 20 times.

      3. Start at the center and just roll one petal up tight and then add petals all around (figure D). Just add a back piece to hold it all together.

    • A couple entered a contest and won a duct tape wedding. The bride's dress was made with 600 Bavarian crystals and 60 rolls of duct tape. The possibilities are endless for using duct tape in fashions.
