The next step in transforming this bonus room into an apartment for Ron's son Justin, is to build and install a large entertainment center to hold his electronic equipment.

Materials:

10 sheets of birch plywood
Wood stain
Sand paper
Nail gun
Wood putty

1. After making your measurements, mark and cut out all pieces.

2. Assemble the shelves by attaching the front and back lip to the shelf plank using wood glue and nails (figure A).

3. Lightly sand the shelves, then apply stain.

4. Mark the wall where the studs are located.

   Note: install the shelves for the entertainment unit from the bottom, up.

5. Once the first bottom shelf has been installed and attached to the studs, set 14 inch spacers on each end to support the next shelf (figure B) while it's being installed. Repeat this step for each shelf.

   Note: check each shelf for level.
