Restoration Realities had been working with JaNa Hines to remove all added trim and transoms to restore pocket doors to working order. It finally came time to see if we had done the job right!
Installation:1. We brought the doors in and balanced their bottoms (figure A). 2. We moved the pulley along its track and into position (figure B). Once the door had been lifted, we simply slid the pulley on to the door track. We did one side, then the other.
3. The doors swung freely from the pulley (figure C). So to guide them, we attached the new doorstops to either side of the door. We used brass screws to hold them in place (figure D).
We're finished! We began this project with JeNa Hines' doors buried in her walls, hidden by false transoms and years of caulk and paint (figure E). Through hard work and determination, we were able to remove the false transoms, refinish the doors, and hang them back in their proper place (figure F).
