Top SectionCut out the pieces for the top section using 1/2 inch MDF. Use the following measurements: One 4'x 1 1/16" x 2' x 4 1/4" for backer. Two 2' x 4 1/2" x 1' x 8" for vertical dividers. Two 1' x 10" x 1' x 8" for square shelves. Four 1' x 9" x 1' for round shelves. Use the table top for a template.
1. Assemble the top section. Pre-drill, glue and screw to attach (figure H). Fill the holes with wood fill.2. Use 3/8 inch dowels as locating pins to center the top section onto the bottom section (figure I). 3. Prime, and then paint the entire unit. Tip: Use red paint for the large sections, and then add detail with black paint on the edges. 4. Seal with a water-based protective finish. 5. Place the speakers on top of the entire unit. Use metal right angle brackets to hold in place. 6. Make all of the wiring connections needed to hook up the sound system to the speakers.
