Action Sports Bedroom Find out how to transform a bedroom into a sports zone. From "Ready As He Grows" episode DAHG-103

Our toddler is now a young boy who loves sports and this makeover is sure to please him with action-packed sports figures and some cool paint for the walls.

Simple stripes and bright paint colors create a fun backdrop for this sports themed room.

Paint:

Liquid Blue SW6779
Daredevil SW6882
Mandarin SW6891
Gecko SW6719

Materials:

paint rollers
brushes
paint trays
drop cloths
pencil
painters blue tape
level

For this project we kept the two colors on the walls from the previous makeover ("Tatami Tan" and "Harvester").

1. Measure up from the floor approximately 35 inches, and then make a level line around the perimeter of the room.

2. Measure up from the floor another 47 inches, and then make a level line around the perimeter of the room. These two steps will create the 12 inch wide sky-blue line.

3. Tape off above the 47 inch line and below the 35 inch line with painter's blue tape, and then paint with "Liquid Blue" (figure A). Allow to dry.

4. Measure up from the bottom edge of the wide blue line approximately two inches and again two inches above that. Make a light pencil line around the room at both levels to create a stripe in the light blue line.

5. Tape off just below the lower line and just above the upper line (figure B), and then fill in with "Daredevil".

6. Measure down from the upper blue line edge two inches and again four inches to create a two inch stripe around the room near the top of the blue line. Again, make a light pencil line at each measurement, all around the room.

7. Tape off just below the upper line and just above the lower line, and then fill in with "Mandarin Orange" (figure C).

8. Measure a four inch wide stripe at the bottom of the wide blue stripe. Make a pencil mark for the upper and lower lines of this stripe around the room.

9. For the top stripe,tape above the pencil line and below the blue edge line. For the bottom stripe, tape above the blue edge line and below the pencil line. Paint the two stripes with "Gecko".
