    1. Measure the "drop-down" from the ceiling. In our case, with eight-foot ceilings; we made a pencil mark 23 inches down from the ceiling and a level line around the room at the same measurement.

    2. Using painters blue tape, tape above the level "drop-down" line.

    3. Paint below the line with "Tatami Tan".

    4. When the paint is dry, carefully remove the blue tape.

    5. Tape below the level line of the room.

    6. Using "Harvester", paint above the tape including the ceiling.

    7. Paint all of the trim using "Leather Bound".

    Fireman's Loft Bed

    Materials:

    eight 2x4 hanging brackets
    six 8' 2x4 pine planks
    four 6' 4x4 wooden posts
3/4" 4'x8' sheet of birch plywood
    3/4" 2'x4' birch plywood
    eight 8' 2x6 pine planks
    8 galvanized joist hangers

    1. Drill all the way through the 4 x 4 with the 3/8 inch spade bit (figure A) at the "registration marks".

    2. Line up the holes in the 4 x 4 post with the holes in the 4' x 8' platform, and then slip a carriage bolt through the holes.

    3. Attach a nut and washer to the end of the bolt, and then secure it tightly with a wrench (figure B). Repeat this process around all four corners.

    4. Once the posts are bolted on, have some friends help you stand up the bed on its legs (figure C).
