  • A Touch of the Tropics
  • From "DIY to the Rescue"
    episode DTTR-302F

In only three days, the Estabrooks and DIY to the Rescue crew have transformed a tired, dreary bedroom into a sunny, tropical retreat. New bamboo flooring and baseboards add a finished look to what's underfoot. Dave Estabrook applied two colors of paint in soft colors, while Amy Devers added new window treatments. A professional contractor was called in to build a custom corner cabinet to house the TV. Finally, host Karl Champley added a ceiling fan with rattan blades to bring a little bit of paradise to the ceiling.

Themed artwork, a rattan ceiling fan, and sheer, textured window shades lend a fresh breeze to the finished room.
