  • Busy Bothes
  • From "DIY to the Rescue"
    episode DTTR-205

Five years ago, Bo and Heather Bothe began renovating their outdated bedroom. Life has been full speed ahead ever since (Bo is working on his MBA and started his own business; Heather teaches full-time and both are parents to two young children). In the fast lane of young parenthood and professional careers, home repair projects have come to a stall.

The bedroom is drafty thanks to a window the Bothes broke to gain entry when they accidentally locked themselves out of the house. There's a hole in the drywall, undesirable pink carpeting, and a general lack of style.

Heather checks out some of Bo's incomplete handiwork.

Bo has the tools and knowledge to get started on projects -- but lacks the time to finish them all. What he really needs is a jump start and a helping hand.

One of the room's aspects that Heather really wants to disappear is the muted pink carpeting.

The Rescue crew will bring a dash of panache to the Bothes' bedroom. In only three days DIY to the Rescue will:

    • Replace the windows
    • Deepen the window stool
    • Repair the drywall
    • Install unique carpet tiles
    • Install fluted casings around the doors and windows, complete with rosettes
    • Install a recessed art box to feature Heather's cross collection
