    How To Hang Wainscoting

Tip: Locate your wall studs, using a stud finder, before you start. This will help you know where to attach your rails and styles.

Safety Alert: Always wear eye protection and follow proper safety precautions when working with power tools or pneumatic tools.

    Steps:

    • Measure the length of each wall and install the top board parallel to the floor, use a level to install (figure A).

    • Measure the distance from the top rail to the bottom rail to get the length of your vertical style (figure B).

    • Put the vertical style into place checking level and plumb (figure C).

    • Glue the back and with a finish nailer, nail it into place (figure D).

    • Seal your seams with caulk and paint or stain to your desired color.
