Install Vanity and Cabinets- Position the vanity in the desired location to check for fit and placement.
- Remove the doors and drawers from the vanity for easier installation.
- Measure and mark the back of the vanity cabinet for the location of the sink drain. Cut a hole for the drain with a hole saw; Amy used a 3" hole saw to accommodate the 2-1/2" drain. Start the cutout from the back (outside) of the vanity, then finish the cut from the inside of the vanity (figure A). This will help avoid splintering the wood.
- Position the vanity so the hole lines up with the sink drain.
- To center the vanity under the new bridge faucet, find and mark the center point between the hot and cold supply lines. Use a level to draw a plumb line down the wall from this mark.
- Measure and mark the center point on the cabinet. Position the cabinet against the wall, lining the center point of the cabinet up with the centerline on the wall. Make sure the drain hole still lines up with the sink drain.
Check the cabinet for level and plumb (figure B). Use shims as needed to level the cabinet.Drill small pilot holes through the back of the cabinet into the wall studs. Attach to the studs with screws (figure C).Dry-fit the countertop to the cabinet. To secure the countertop, raise the front edge and apply dime-sized dollops of silicone to the top of the cabinet (figure D). Lower the countertop into place and allow the silicone to cure.
