Note: Be sure to read and follow all of the manufacturer’s instructions that came with the new tub. Different tub styles may require different installation procedures.

    • Dry-fit the pipes and fittings for the tub drain. Use a marker to show where cuts are needed and cut the pipes to the correct length (figure A). Amy used a special handsaw with a blade designed for cutting PVC and other plastics.

    • Place the nut, plastic washer and rubber washer around the overflow tube and the drain tube (figure B).

    • Attach the T-pipe connector to both the overflow and drain tubes and hand-tighten the nuts.

    • Set the drain assembly in place and fit the rubber washer in the drain hole. Place the drain plate on top of the washer and secure it with the tightening nut.

    • Assemble the overflow dial and complete the overflow connections (figure C).

    • Set the tub in place (figure D). Amy, Andy and JP waited until other key parts of the bathroom – like the custom shower – were completed before having a plumber come in to make the final connections.
