With the plumbing complete, Amy and homeowner CeLois get to work on the shower floor, which gets covered with glass mosaic tile.
Materials:buckets thinset drill whip attachment seven-in-one tool utility knife sponge v-notch trowel Tiling Shower Floor 1. Pour about an inch and a half of water into a bucket and add thinset. Use a drill with a whip attachment to mix (figure A), then let it slake for about 15 minutes. 2. Smooth the ridges off the shower base with a seven-in-one tool (figure B). 3. Cut the glass tile sheets in half with a utility knife (figure C). Use a tile nipper to cut individual tiles in half to fill in the gaps (figure D).
4. Dryfit the tile sheets to ensure the layout is correct (figure E).5. Wipe the concrete shower pan off with a damp sponge (figure F). Dry concrete has a layer of dust which would impede the adhesion of the thinset.
