Remove doors and drawers from vanity to make the plumbing more accessible (figure A). 2. Close the water shut-off valve (figure B) and loosen the water supply nut with a wrench, then disconnect the P-trap by loosening the nuts at both ends (figure C). 3. With the plumbing disconnected, the sinks can be pried out (figure D). 4. Use a hammer and prybar to separate the countertop from the vanity (figure E). Be careful not to damage the vanity box if you are saving it.
5. Place strips of tape on the mirror just in case it breaks (figure F). 6. A chipping hammer, which rents for about $40 a day, can be used to speed up the removal of tile (figure G). 7. Use a screwdriver to take off electrical cover plates.
