    Stainless steel doors and drawer fronts replace the outdated oak, but first, Amy and Jim modify the cabinet to accept the new style of hinges. Then, Amy and Erika build a mirror frame out of maple.

    Cabinet Drawers and Drawer Fronts Replacement

    1. Notch out the cabinet stiles using a hand saw, hammer and chisel (figure A).

    2. Add a cleat to the back of the stiles to receive the hinge screws (figure B).

    3. Screw the new hinges into place and adjust as needed (figure C).

    4. Mark and drill holes for the new drawer fronts and attach them with a nut driver (figure D).

    Framing Mirror

    1. Cut four boards to length with 45-degree miters on both ends (figure E).

    2. On a table saw, cut a cavity in the back of each board to receive the mirror (figure F).

    3. Lay the frame out and clamp the corners together (figure G). Temporarily attach the corners with a pneumatic nailer, then add "L" brackets to the back side of the frame.

    4. Predrill "L" brackets and screw on each corner (figure H).

    5. Fit and secure the mirror with clips.

    6. Attach two keyhole hangers to the back of the frame.

    7. Hang the mirror (figure I).
