The tub deck is prepped with plywood and cement board and the new, jetted tub is installed. Then, the slate tile floor is cleaned and sealed in preparation for grouting.

1-3/8" spade bit Tub Installation 1. Cut plywood to size of tub deck and screw down to the frame (figure A). 2. Using the specifications from the manufacturer, mark the dimensions on the plywood for the cutout (figure B).
3. Drill pilot holes with a half-inch drill bit (figure C), then use a jigsaw to make the cutout (figure D).
4. Next, cover the tub deck with cement board. Use scrap pieces on the top. Screw the boards to the deck with cement board screws (figure E).5. Set tub in place (figure F). Use a 1-3/8" spade bit to cut a hole for the faucet.
