    sliding compound miter saw
    framing nailer

    joist hanger

    Plumbing Access Panel Installation

    1. Determine the location of the access panel for the tub, mark the floor and cut along the edge with a reciprocating saw.

    2. To cut the center, use a circular saw (figure A). Make a plunge cut then follow along the marks. Remove the boards (figure B).

    3. Cut out the joist with a reciprocating saw (figure C).

    4. Cut lam beams to length and rip them to the correct width. Tap them in place with a hammer.

    5. Put lam beam in place and secure using a framing nailer (figure D), then add a joist hanger for support (figure E).
