Glass Shower Door From "Bathroom Renovations" episode DBTR-213

Amy and Debbie install the new glass panel shower door. They attach rails to the base of the shower and the tile walls, then bring in the glass panels.

Shower Door Installation

1. Drill proper holes into the walls for the side rails.

2. Run a bead of silicone on the underside of the threshold piece (figure A).

3. Put it in place and tape it down until the side rails are in place (figure B).

4. Tap a plastic anchor into the pre-drilled holes in the tile (figure C).

5. Slide side rails into threshold (figure D) and screw to the wall anchors with stainless steel screws (figure E).

6. Drop rubber spacers in the channel on the left side of the threshold to hold the stationary panel of the door (figure F).

7. Place the glass stationary panel (figure G), and slide it into the side rail. Attach the center rail, and top rail to the side panel (figure H).

8. Snap fillers into the threshold and the top rail where the swing door will go (figure I).

9. Use a shim (not metal) to press the glazing strip into the channel on both sides of the stationary glass panel (figure J).

10. Bring in the swing door, attaching the hinge to the bottom rail and threshold and snapping it into place (figure K).
