Sub-floor1. Use a T-square to mark your cut lines on the plywood (figure A). 2. Cut the plywood to size, running the circular saw across the width of the board (figure B). 3. Using the original sub-floor nails as a guide, mark the floor joist locations on the wall to know where you can insert the screws (figure C). 4. Lay the plywood in place on the floor (figure D).
5. Run a chalk line off the floor joist to mark the wall. Then, drive deck screws every eight inches along the line (figure E).6. Bring in the cement board and lay it down on the plywood (figure F). 7. Screw the cement board into the plywood about every six inches (figure G).
