    Remove Wall and Ledge

    1. Punch a hole with a hammer into the wall, pull off a piece of drywall and check for any electrical or other obstructions.

    2. With a six inch blade in a reciprocating saw, make a vertical cut from ceiling down (figure A).

    3. Score the ceiling with a utility knife to make it a clean break (figure B).

    4. Pull the drywall off in pieces, using a crow bar when necessary (figure C).

    5. Then, cut through the studs around the door with a reciprocating saw with a nine inch blade (figure D).

    6. Knock out the studs with a hammer and pull out the header (figure E).

    7. With a reciprocating saw, cut the studs on the ledge and then knock out with a hammer (figure F).
