Materials:

Install Sub-floor

1/4 inch birch underlayment
Circular saw
Pneumatic stapler
1 3/8 inch quarter-round staples

Laying Floor Tile

Skimcoat
Paddle mixer
Bucket
Kneepads
Flat trowel
Putty knife
Gloves
Eye protection
Mask
PVC tile adhesive
Tile adhesive trowel
Cloth
Utility knife
Straight edge
100 lb. roller

Sub-floor Installation

1. Cut birch underlayment to size with a circular saw (figure A). Measure and grid the floor to end with as few seams as possible.

2. Use a pneumatic stapler to attach the underlayment to the floor beneath (figure B). Staple every 6 inches in a grid pattern.
