Marble Wainscoting Installation From "Bathroom Renovations" episode DBTR-202

The bathroom is looking great, but it will look even better when Kelli and Stuart install the cultured marble pieces to create a wainscot all the way around the bathroom.

Marble Wainscoting Installation

1. Dry-fit the first piece. Make sure it is plumb and level (figure A), since the next piece lines up with the first and so on.

2. To cut around molding, first mark the height on the marble (figure B). Then measure how far it extends past the door trim (figure C). Using a square (figure D), transfer these measurements to the marble and cut. Use the same process to cut around the window.

3. Use a jigsaw to make the cuts, starting with the short cut first (figure E). Be sure to avoid extra vibrations. The marble is fragile, and can crack.

4. Flip the piece over and apply a generous bead of adhesive to the back (figure F).

5. Maneuver the piece into place and press it onto the wall.
